She's the kind of girl who shoots first and asks questions afterwards--something that a guy would do. So I like her tough attitude. Later, we see that her hard exterior is also a camouflage or barrier that she uses to protect herself from emotional hurt--what with her dysfunctional childhood. It's really interesting though that while Rafe had a rough childhood, he has a capacity to love and is rich with emotion in comparison to BJ's emotional reserve. Very moving for me is the ending. BJ overcomes the emotional emptiness and stumbling blocks in her heart to reach out and take the love of the man who had her back throughout the novel. As professional partners Rafe and BJ are dangerous as a couple in love, they are dynamite. The heat in this book is not only from the suspense but also from the romance between these two main characters. The plot is well crafted, the pace of the book fast, and the action is edge of your seat.

Recommended for all romance lovers, especially for those who love romantic suspense and love having the good guys win.

I had assumed so far in the series that Rafe would end up with Stephanie, but BJ was so much better. The way they butted heads was fun and kept things exciting. Awesome series!
Each one of the Black Ops series is a great story. Each character has his story and even though they are sequels they are completely different. Each one with fun, heartbreak, and love.
Feel the Heat is a continuation of her BOI series. A series that you read over and over again because you can't help be drawn to the strong men and woman characters.
I LOVE this series!! I highly recommend! The characters are likable and Cindy Gerard has a way of pulling you in to the story. Her books are full of emotion and leave you craving more!!
I've really enjoyed the BOI series but 'Feel the Heat' was a little slow for the first 100 pages or so. I thought the plot could have been introduced about 30 pages earlier. But I kept going because I knew Ms. Gerard would not disappoint. By the end of the book I was another happy reader. I can't wait to begin book 5 'Risk No Secrets'.
This is another great installment in the series. The back story of the main characters could have been stronger, but was still solid. The author excels at pulling you into a story and allowing you to vicariously, and thus safely, experience an exciting world that in reality would cause most of us to run screaming (me leading that pack). The romance side of the story I give a 3.5, mostly because it moved a little to fast given the limited amount of interaction between the two characters. The overall story / plot I give a 4.5, it was intriguing and suspenseful.
After the disappointment the last two books were for me, I was afraid to start this one. Fortunately, the fourth book in the 'Black Ops' series grabbed me from the beginning and left me incredibly pleased with how it all developed and ended.

Our hero, Raphael Mendoza, was an interesting and loving character. I didn't know much about him from the previous books so it was a pleasure to get to know him. His backstory is heartbreaking but I loved how he managed to overcome it and become a better person. I adored him.

Our heroine, B.J. Chase, wasn't someone I loved, but I really liked her. She was cold and guarded, but she was a badass when it came to facing the bad guys. I loved her interactions with the BOIs and I think it should've been her the first female member in the team and not Crystal.

Rafe and B.J. together? It was an entertaining journey. They're opposites. He wants in, she wants out. He smiles, she frowns. He takes a step forward, she takes a step back. I LOVED THEM. They haven't dethroned my favorite couple Gabe and Jenna, but I still enjoyed their banters, getting-to-know-each-other and sexy times A LOT. Especially when it came to Rafe and B.J. trying different personalities. It was hilarious.

Something else I really liked. No, LOVED. LOVED LOVED LOVED, (and definitely my favorite part of the book), was seeing Gabe and Jenna back in action. In the last two books they only showed up in the epilogue but in here they have more participation. Their love is even stronger and I love them even more.

Close to this favorite part was the return of the ENTIRE BOI TEAM. It was about time they all showed up and united to fight the bad guys.

There's also a secondary story between Bryan Tompkins' sister, Stephanie (who we met in the first book) and Joe Green. It was really sweet and I enjoyed it but I wish it could've been shorter to give Rafe and B.J more time together.

**OVERALL

'Feel the Heat' was a winner. The chemistry between the couple; the hero, heroine; the return of old characters; the friendship and family bonds; the suspense and thrilling action.

Definitely a wonderful, funny, sexy, heartbreaking, and heart-stopping journey you can't miss.
